Real Life Remedies for Dicey Situations
Created Amidst the Brakes and Wrenches of Modern Life
The Creative Dice company was born in a small independent auto repair shop in Southern California. Bill Hochstrasser, a seasoned auto repair technician, realized that diagnosing cars in this day and age of computerization, frequently required an educated guess, and sometimes an outright gamble. As a joke, with a belt sander on his lap and wooden blocks in hand, he made up a few sets of Diagnostic Dice for his fellow techs. From day one the concept rang like a bell through the auto repair industry.

Manufacturingthe Mexico and China Connection
Furniture makers in Ensenada, Mexico, supplied the first 100 sets of painted wooden blocks. A trophy maker in Tijuana, Mexico, agreed to screen print the solutions onto the blocks. Red felt glued in plain white boxes, adorned with free clip art off the computer then produce the first non-homemade sets. Rough, downright homey, they sold in a week and he knew he had something going. Finally, after much work, many phone calls to China, visits and interviews with packaging designers and not a small amount of worry, Bill finally produced the professionally-made high-impact plastic dice that is now used in both the famous Diagnostic Dice and the new Doghouse Dice.
The Forgotten Anniversary
While accomplishing all of the above, Bill made one critical mistake... he forgot his wedding anniversary. Rosalie (Bill's wife) waited all day until she was sure he had forgotten, then sent flowers to the auto shop where Bill worked. The beautiful floral bouquet delivered to the shop was accompanied by the hoots of other techs who thought is was all a great jokebut it was no joke at home. He tried apologizing, promising to work less, tried yelling at the dogs... all to no avail. It was then that he realized life at home was even more complex than at work. Solutions were required, and after many surveys with many different types of married and unmarried women, the Doghouse Dice were born. Just as Diagnostic Dice delivers simple tips for solving your auto repair dilemmas, Doghouse Dice just might help get your relationship running smoothly again. You never know until you roll!
